ComponentArt is pleased to announce that the Web.UI 2006.1 release candidate (RC) is available for immediate download. With the RC release, Web.UI 2006.1 is now feature complete, with the full release expected within a week from today.
This first release of Web.UI in 2006 includes extensive support for ASP.NET 2.0, ground-breaking new client-side functionality, enhanced AJAX features, and two brand new controls: WebChart Lite and Splitter for ASP.NET.
The Web.UI 2006.1 RC can be downloaded here. WebChart Lite is installed separately through the full WebChart for ASP.NET installer, and can be downloaded here.

ComponentArt Callback control now offers new features for enhanced AJAX support, including accessing page state, bypassing page life cycle, and automatic callback refresh support: Two New Controls
WebChart Lite for ASP.NET - adds charting capabilities to the Web.UI suite. WebChart Lite offers most of the features of the full WebChart control, but is limited to two-dimensional chart types and projections.
Splitter for ASP.NET - enables easy creation of interface layouts with resizable panels. Features of Splitter include: support for any table-like layout, ability to collapse and expand panes, pane scrolling, filling window width and height, ability to define (and switch between) multiple layouts, extensive server-side and client-side APIs, persisting state upon postback, and more.
License Keys for Subscription Customers
Customers with an active Web.UI Subscription License have already been assigned new license keys for Web.UI 2006.1. This license key can be accessed through the "My Account -> My License Keys" page of the ComponentArt website.
Upgrade Information
Customers with active Subscription licenses will receive the new version of Web.UI at no additional cost. Furthermore, current Subscription customers will also receive the new VS2005 version of the suite - Web.UI 2006.1 for ASP.NET 2.0 - at no additional cost.
Upgrades to Web.UI 2006.1 for ASP.NET and Web.UI 2006.1 for ASP.NET 2.0 will be available to customers who purchased previous versions of Web.UI, with upgrade pricing to be announced upon release of the new version.

Customers who purchase a Web.UI Developer license will receive an automatic upgrade to Web.UI 2006.1 for ASP.NET or Web.UI 2006.1 for ASP.NET 2.0 at no additional cost. There is therefore no benefit to delaying your purchase until Web.UI 2006.1 is released.
